He has research interests in the applications of chemistry to planetary sciences and space development.  He joined the Church in Boston while teaching at MIT.  His books include: Books: Worlds Without End: The Exploration of Planets Known and Unknown andMining the Sky: Untold Riches from the Asteroids, Comets, and Planets.
