Walter Rane
He served a full-time mission in France. The mission president wanted to do a traveling exhibit of original works to appeal to the French people. It was sort of a visitors center in the back of a VW Bus. Elder Rane spent a couple of months in the mission home painting religious pieces, and he enjoyed it very much. In the late nineties he did a painting that ended up in the Winter Quarters Visitors Center. He recently published a book title: By the Hand of Mormon: Scenes from the Land of Promise. His paintings have been on display at the Church Museum of Art.
