16-year-old Lauryn Judd from Draper, Utah was a contestant on The Voice 2017. She chose to sing a unique, acoustic version of “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” for her blind audition and got three out of four chairs to turn around for her. She chose to be on Alicia Key’s team. Gwen Stefani complimented her on her “cool style” and pointed out that “that’s something you can’t really teach.” Alicia Keys told her that, at first, she thought that there were two people auditioning because Lauryn’s tone changed a little bit throughout the song. She said to Lauryn, “You’re a really special artist, and I do hope to work with you.”

Lauryn was eliminated in the Battle Rounds against Lilli Passero. The judges commented that the main reason was that Lilli was more experienced. Still, her voice is very unique. Hopefully, she will continue singing. Lauryn is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She has been singing for audiences since she was four and has been involved in musical theater since she was eleven. She is also a member of her school choir.
