Rene Rodriguez, a 16-year-old from Layton, UT and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be competing in the biggest amateur motocross event in the country this week.
Rodriguez qualified to compete in the 36th annual Rocky Mountain ATV / MC AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship. This year the competition will be held in Hurricane Mills, TN at the Loretta Lynn Ranch from July 31 – August 5.
Born in Santiago, Chile, Rodriguez started getting into BMX at the age of three and motocross by five. He has continued to be a great example of his faith to his friends and fellow racers. Rodriguez doesn’t race on Sundays, even though that’s when the best prizes are awarded. He also makes sure to pray before each race.
