Marc CameronMarc Cameron, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (often referred to as the “Mormon Church”), was born in 1961 in Texas and graduated from Weatherford High School in 1980. He later spent 29 years in law enforcement as a police officer. Twenty of those years were spent working with the federal government.

In early 1991 he became part of the United States Marshals Service, specializing in dignitary protection. He moved through the ranks, and in 2011, retired as Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal of the district of Alaska to pursue writing full time. Cameron also holds a second-degree black belt in Jujitsu, is a certified scuba diver and man-tracking instructor, and often teaches defensive tactics to law enforcement agencies and civilian groups.

In addition, he has also written a Western novel, To Hell and Beyond (2017), under the pseudonym Mark Henry.

In 2011, Cameron published his first novel, National Security, which became critically acclaimed. The success of that novel paved the way for the release of seven more novels: Act of Terror (2012), State of Emergency (2013), Time of Attack (2014), Day Zero (2015), Brute Force (2015), Field of Fire (2016), and Dead Drop (2017); as well as a novella, The Triple Frontier (2018).

In late 2016, Cameron was chosen to continue the Tom Clancy Jack Ryan/Campus Thriller series. His first novel in the series, Tom Clancy: Power and Empire, was published in November 2017. It debuted at number six on the New York Times bestseller list. About the novel, Publishers Weekly commented, “All the writers who have contributed to this series since Clancy’s death have been good, but Cameron’s formidable performance puts him at the head of the pack.” Cameron continued the series with Tom Clancy: Oath of Office, and Tom Clancy Code of Honor.

The latest book in the series, Tom Clancy Shadow of the Dragon (A Jack Ryan Novel Book 20), was released on 17 November 2020. The next book in the series, which is slated to be released on 16 November 2021, is titled Tom Clancy Chain of Command (A Jack Ryan Novel Book 21).

Marc CameronAs a child, Marc Cameron loved to watch Indiana Jones and James Bond movies, which he believes piqued his interest to become the writer that he is today in what he refers to as Action-Adventure books. Cameron is also an avid sailor and adventure motorcyclist. He presently resides in the Pacific Northwest with his wife and BMW 1200GS motorcycle that he loves very much. His books often feature boats, bikers, and bikes, including OSI Agent Jericho Quinn’s beloved BMW GS.
